August 2009
BREA, California – August 2009 – Parsec Automation Corp., developer of TrakSYS
and world leader of real-time performance management (RPM) solutions, announces
its win of MBT's Innovation Insight Award.
One of the numerous and innovative productivity improvement solutions that Parsec
has delivered globally was to help a canned food manufacturer determine the best
strategy for revamping its production lines. That project earned Parsec third place
in the Most Innovative Process category.
The food manufacturer wanted to replace a number of its aged canning lines with
an alternate filling technology. Amongst the myriad of challenges were vendor selection,
technology, and cost. Using TrakSYS to collect real-time performance data from tests
of competing technologies from various vendors gave the manufacturer the information
it needed to make the best facts-based decision.
Not only did the system help in vendor selection, it also altered the manufacturer's
original thinking on how many lines to purchase. Initially, the manufacturer planned
to retire 20 canning lines and replace them with 12 higher-performing pouch lines.
But analysis provided by TrakSYS indicated that 24 canning lines could be retired,
and it would take only 8 pouch lines to replace them. This resulted in a savings
of $8 million in capital costs. The company also will save a substantial amount
in annual maintenance costs by retiring the canning lines.
July 1, 2009
BREA, California – 1 July 2009 – Parsec Automation Corp., developer of TrakSYS
and world leader of real-time performance management (RPM) solutions, announces
the release of its next generation of LEANTrak. LEANTrak is a mobile productivity
solution that is set up quickly to collect relevant data from production systems
without any changes to the existing assets or disrupting the operations. It readily
provides users with crucial and actionable intelligence necessary for improving
manufacturing productivity and business profitability.
"It's improbable to improve (production line performance) unless you know the root
causes of why something isn't working," says Eddy Azad, CEO of Parsec. "Many manufacturers
are understandably hesitant to put new solutions in place for fear they will add
to the complexities inherent in the manufacturing process. It can be an overwhelming
prospect. However, LEANTrak allows users to quickly and easily set up in minutes
– regardless of infrastructure, resources, products/equipment vintage – and almost
immediately gain invaluable knowledge of how to improve their operations; all without
production disruption."
LEANTrak packs the power of Parsec's TrakSYS Real-time Performance Management (RPM)
software into a portable package that is easily deployed in minutes without typical
installation challenges, wiring, programming, infrastructure changes, or production
disruption. With this newest generation of LEANTrak, Parsec has greatly simplified
the set-up process by creating pre-configured point & click prompts to walk any
user - even nonprogrammers - through the set-up process so they may begin collecting
and analyzing data in minutes.
Because LEANTrak is portable it can easily be moved from machine-to-machine, line-to-line,
or site-to-site. LEANTrak accurately records production line productivity events
by monitoring and measuring product flow. With LEANTrak manufacturers are able to
determine the value of RPM tools by collecting, storing, and analyzing performance
data before committing to a broader software implementation and infrastructure modifications.

BREA, California – 12 March 2008 – Parsec Automation Corp., developer of
powerful real-time performance management software platform, TrakSYS, announces
the release of HISTORITrak. HISTORITrak is a new TrakSYS component
that allows for benchmarking of key performance indicators (KPIs) against a multitude
of process variables from disparate sources and makes the goal of improving productivity
significantly more attainable.
"Historian functionality is not new," says Eddy Azad, Parsec CEO. "The fundamental
differentiator with HISTORITrak is its focus on performance and productivity instead
of data logging and reporting alone. HISTORITrak makes it possible to analyze
how process variables affect productivity so that the operational settings can be
optimized for the best possible yield. It is designed to take the guesswork out
and get the most out of existing assets."
HISTORITrak allows process variables from disparate data sources accessed
by TrakSYS to be logged, sorted, analyzed, benchmarked, and reported. HISTORITrak
also allows users to tailor the business rules governing the collection, archiving,
auto-purging, and management of the data. HISTORITrak offers a rich variety
of visualization options and report types to significantly improve the opportunity
for measurable productivity improvement. The personalized real-time visualization
and historical report dashboards are made available via the TrakSYS knowledge management
portal, WEBTrak.

BREA, California – 28 February 2008 – Parsec Automation Corp., developer
of TrakSYS and a world leader of real-time performance management (RPM) solutions,
announces the release of AUDITTrak. AUDITTrak, a new groundbreaking TrakSYS module,
is designed to provide electronic records and electronic signatures for all changes
made to the production-related data in compliance with the Food and Drug Administration
(FDA) 21 CFR Part 11. This module empowers pharmaceutical companies to undertake
operational excellence initiatives with complete confidence in their data change
management capabilities.
"In today's ever-changing world of compliance and regulatory standards, users of
performance management systems must have the assurance that compliance with FDA
regulations is preserved should changes to data have cGMP impact," says Scott Klages,
VP and Sr. Manufacturing Consultant for Parsec. "Parsec's AUDITTrak provides users
with full electronic record-keeping capabilities both for the collected data, and
the data collection configuration."
The new AUDITTrak module for TrakSYS actively monitors and alerts changes to the
existing infrastructure configuration, setpoints, products, and recorded values.
Such changes trigger alerts and the need for authorization via multi-layer electronic
signatures. Whenever a change is made, AUDITTrak mandates verification from two
sources in the form of electronic signatures along with relevant notes to describe
the reason for the change. All changes are recorded for detailed reporting and analysis.
Authorized users can query and filter audit trails for reporting via the TrakSYS
knowledge management portal, WEBTrak.
