Parsec’s New HISTORITrak Enables Manufacturers to Easily Assess Impact of
Process Variations on Productivity and Quality
BREA, California – 12 March 2008 – Parsec Automation Corp., developer of powerful real-time performance
management software platform, TrakSYS, announces the release of HISTORITrak. HISTORITrak is a new TrakSYS component
that allows for benchmarking of key performance indicators (KPIs) against a multitude of process variables from
disparate sources and makes the goal of improving productivity significantly more attainable.
"Historian functionality is not new," says Eddy Azad, Parsec CEO. "The fundamental differentiator with HISTORITrak
is its focus on performance and productivity instead of data logging and reporting alone. HISTORITrak makes it possible
to analyze how process variables affect productivity so that the operational settings can be optimized for the best
possible yield. It is designed to take the guesswork out and get the most out of existing assets."
HISTORITrak allows process variables from disparate data sources accessed by TrakSYS to be logged, sorted, analyzed,
benchmarked, and reported. HISTORITrak also allows users to tailor the business rules governing the collection, archiving,
auto-purging, and management of the data. HISTORITrak offers a rich variety of visualization options and report types
to significantly improve the opportunity for measurable productivity improvement. The personalized real-time visualization
and historical report dashboards are made available via the TrakSYS knowledge management portal, WEBTrak.

collection configuration."
The new AUDITTrak module for TrakSYS actively monitors and alerts changes to the existing infrastructure
configuration, setpoints, products, and recorded values. Such changes trigger alerts and the need for authorization
via multi-layer electronic signatures. Whenever a change is made, AUDITTrak mandates verification from two sources in
the form of electronic signatures along with relevant notes to describe the reason for the change. All changes are
recorded for detailed reporting and analysis. Authorized users can query and filter audit trails for reporting via
the TrakSYS knowledge management portal, WEBTrak.

This data is then stored, analyzed and visualized in the same manner as the automatically collected data.
- Users now can easily model custom attributes and analytics specific to their resources, assets and workflow to make the
process of performance management tailored to their own operations. This will significantly increases the effectiveness of
their organized continuous improvement and operational excellence programs.
- Users can now interact even more effectively with shop-floor information to make decisions that will improve performance
in real time. The shop-floor operators and associates play a critical role in successful continuous improvement initiatives.
TrakSYS 5.0 provides them with more relevant, focused and actionable intelligence to help them better fulfill this critical
role.
The new release provides strong support for Microsoft Vista and reflects Parsec’s continued commitment to extend TrakSYS
functionality into areas where enterprises need it most. First launched seven years ago, TrakSYS was the industry’s first
real-time performance management off-the-shelf software application.
Gaining Control of Applications, Assets and Productivity
Plans TrakSYS 5.0 incorporates new capabilities that further elevate Parsec customers’ ability to collect data, analyze events
critical to productivity enhancements, determine root causes for bottlenecks, improve quality yield, reduce cycle time, lower cost

"Better utilization of data across the organization continues to be a top priority for companies across manufacturing industries.
As such, business intelligence, performance management, and analytics should be top of mind topics," said Jane Barret, Research
Director, AMR Research in an April 2007 report. According to AMR Research, business intelligence/performance management spending
will increase 3.6% in 2007, with total budgets across North America expected to hit $23.8B and software purchases will expand
by more than 8%.
"Your reports are only as good as the timely, accurate and actionable intelligence contained in them," said
Eddy Azad, President and CEO, Parsec. "TrakSYS 5.0 is all about timely, accurate and actionable intelligence to help our
customers to improve their operational efficiencies without production disruption or the need for costly infrastructure changes.
For us, Release 5.0 isn’t simply about new features and function. We have endeavored to make TrakSYS the tool that is simple
to use, and when used it will deliver quick and measurable results."
Building on Parsec’s Vision for Standardization

Parsec acknowledged as a leader by Manufacturing Business Technology Magazine in 2006
BREA, California – 09 January 2007 – Parsec Automation Corporation, the leading provider of real-time performance
management (RPM) and enterprise manufacturing intelligence (EMI) software for life sciences and other global
manufacturers, was named one of Manufacturing Business Technology Magazine’s "40 Top Emerging Software Vendors."
The list, featured in the October 2006 issue, spotlights those companies that have exhibited a variety of corporate
successes, including company growth and recent customer wins over the last year in the manufacturing, enterprise and
supply chain markets.
According to Manufacturing Business Technology Magazine, Parsec has increased license revenue by more than 500
percent in the first six months of 2006 compared to all of 2005, while growing the customer base by more than 200
percent.
"We are pleased to be recognized in this prestigious ranking by Manufacturing Business Technology Magazine," said
Eddy Azad, CEO and President of Parsec. "Our selection in the 2006 list is a testament to Parsec’s commitment and
growth as the leading real-time performance management software developer in the manufacturing industry. Our
customers are experiencing tremendous success with TrakSYS, which has been selected as the global standard platform
for continuous improvement initiatives by a number of large multinational companies."
TrakSYS helps manufacturers improve asset utilization and efficiency, increase capacity with no new capital, reduce
production costs, and improve profitability.

Parsec’s OEE Software Boosts Productivity for Manufacturers
Brea,California,
May 17, 2006 - Real-Time Performance Management (RPM), or OEE Software as it is
commonly called, is now recognized as a "must have" tool for manufacturing companies,
allowing them to quickly pinpoint areas for improvement. Parsec Automation Corp.
today announced the release of the latest version of its RPM software suite,
TrakSYS 4.04.
Craig Resnick, a Research Director at the ARC Advisory Group, commented, "Without
the correct software tools, it is difficult for manufacturers to consistently identify,
measure and make decisions based upon the variables that affect their productivity.
Manufacturing productivity management software tools, such as Parsec’s TrakSYS,
are designed to help manufacturers make decisions that affect productivity based on
real time measurements and intelligence."
Many plants believe they are operating at efficiency levels in the high 85 to 90 percent range,
according to their traditional methods of measurement, using operator collected data and excluding
certain losses. When these same plants switch over to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), which
is a world-class metric of productivity, they often find that they are operating in the 50 to 70
percent OEE range. By fully exposing all losses due to OEE’s three components… Availability,
Performance, and Quality… the plant team is able to focus on the most critical issues that will
produce real benefits for the business.
TrakSYS Version 4.04 includes additional capabilities that enable manufacturers to rapidly
boost capacity, improve productivity and asset utilization, and reduce unit costs.
"These improvements include complete personalization of plant performance information
based on job function, using the Web to deliver the data. This is important since ease of
use, and the ability for users to quickly gain an understanding of the issues that are hindering
performance, are keys to gaining user acceptance of such systems… and acceptance and support lead
to productivity growth within the factory," says Scott Klages, Vice President of Parsec.
Many companies are investing in Lean – Six Sigma or other improvement initiatives.
TrakSYS provides the set of tools that provides the Lean team with accurate, real-time
data so they can spend their time working on real improvements, rather than collecting and sifting
through data manually. In addition, TrakSYS provides tools that engage operators and maintenance
technicians in the improvement efforts as well, with all team members focused on the same goal of boosting OEE.
"There is a tremendous multiplying effect associated between OEE improvement and profit improvement,"
says Klages. "For example, for a plant starting with an OEE of 50%, a 5 point gain in OEE, provides a 10%
boost in plant output per shift, and this can translate into a 60% profitability gain for that particular product line."

Parsec's TrakSYS is mentioned in Pharmaceutical &
Medical Packaging News
Brea, California, June 8, 2005 - In an article entitled, "Packaging Software
Adds Capabilities While Cutting Costs," by Christina Elston, Contributing
Editor of Pharmaceutical & Medical Packaging News, TrakSYS is acknowledged
as a leading software solution that helps manufacturers improve their packaging
line performance. Below is an excerpt from the article:
"In the pharmaceutical and medical packaging industry, software fills many
needs. It can search for defects, monitor inventory, track suppliers and
materials, and help companies maintain compliance with FDA regulations and
other standards. But as companies implement new software systems for a variety
of reasons, they are also discovering an additional benefit—cost savings.
...
LINE PRODUCTIVITY
While some software is helping packagers do more in-line, other systems help
them ensure that their lines are operating at optimum efficiency. Parsec
Automation Corp. (Brea, CA) created its TrakSYS software to help
companies improve packaging line productivity using OEE (overall equipment
effectiveness) as a key performance indicator, according to vice president
Scott Klages. The system ties right into the PLCs on automated lines and
records machine status. For instance, if machines in a line were stopping, it
would indicate where, for how long, and why, allowing companies to solve
problems, boost line capacity, and improve their product output.
The pharmaceutical industry hasn’t traditionally focused on line efficiency in
this way, but interest is growing, says Klages. Parsec has cosponsored OEE
benchmarking sessions for the pharmaceutical industry with companies such as
Merck, Hospira, and Cardinal Health serving on an advisory board to set the
agendas for the meetings. “This is a really, really hot issue right now,”
Klages says. “The pharmaceutical companies are really under a lot of pressure
now to reduce costs, and they have a lot of potential to do so,” Klages says."
