In 2000, Wonderware, a business unit of Invensys, entered into an agreement
with Parsec to license (private label) Parsec’s real-time performance
management software TrakSYS under the trade name of DT Analyst.
DT analyst 1.0 was released in August 2001. The last release of DT Analyst
(version 2.2) was in August of 2003. DT Analyst 2.2 is also used as the
engine for Wonderware’s equipment performance module 1.0 (EPM 1.0).
Parsec’s agreement with Wonderware ended on 30 September 2007. As of that date,
Wonderware may no longer sell the products and components licensed from Parsec
(i.e., DT Analyst as stand-alone or within EPM 1.0).
While there have been no new releases for DT Analyst in the past 4 years, Parsec
has continued its leadership in the field of enterprise performance management
by expanding its solutions and releasing several new versions of TrakSYS, including
many new components, features and functions to help users significantly improve
operational efficiencies. To be effective the science and practice of performance
management must not uniquely focus on equipment and machinery. It is not sufficient
to collect data from control systems, HMI applications and historians only.
Operational bottlenecks and constraints may have their origins in factors such as
manual tasks, operator knowledge, maintenance practices, workflow, planning,
scheduling and quality of components – just to mention a few.
TrakSYS is a scalable and nonintrusive solution that makes it possible to gather
the needed data from operators, systems and various software applications for
accurate analysis, reporting and collaboration that enable continuous improvement
and operational excellence initiatives. Using TrakSYS typically does not require
changes to the existing production and business systems – which means deployment
is quick, effective, economical, and will not disrupt operations.
Parsec offers DT Analyst users a seamless upgrade to its next generation performance
management software – TrakSYS. It is important to note that TrakSYS is designed to
work with the existing infrastructure – hardware and software – regardless of the vendor.
Upgrading to TrakSYS has many advantages:

| External Content Connectivity |
 |
 |
The data editing capabilities of TrakSYS have been expanded including post-production quality adjustments allowing true efficiencies to be calculated and displayed. |
| Advanced Editing |
 |
 |
WEBTrak allows connection to content from outside the TrakSYS application for in-context display within the portal. |
| Configuration and Modeling |
| Advanced OEE Calculation Definition |
 |
 |
The OEE calculation configuration and engine has been enhanced to include many new features, including, but not limited to, smart production count filtering (to prevent anomolous sensor activity from corrupting accurate counts), unlimited counters, and automatic transition from Performance and Not Scheduled to Availability Loss. |
| Detailed Quality Loss Analysis |
 |
 |
TrakSYS now includes the capability to record and report bad production counts from various sources within a System for a more detailed view of losses. |
| Advanced Logic Definition |
 |
 |
TrakSYS includes several new Tag Types including Calculation, Switch, Latch, Counter and Assign to support modeling complex event trigger logic. |
| ISA 95 Compliant |
 |
 |
Entity Type definition allows for configurations to be modeled to industry standard terminologies (such as ISA's Site, Area, Unit, Cell, Line, etc…). |
| PRODUCTTrak Product Management |
 |
 |
The PRODUCTTrak module allows the definition of different product types and their associated run time attributes to be defined within TrakSYS. User defined attributes such as theoretical rate and counter multipliers can be stored and accessed in real time to improve the usefulness of captured data. |
| User Definable Capture Fields |
 |
 |
The new user definable capture fields allow the definition of process-specific variables (production run number, run modes, etc…) to be captured and used as reporting dimensions. This allows data analysis by the factors that make sense for each plant or line. |
| Multi-Level Categorization Schemes |
 |
 |
Operator applied categories for events can now be defined and selected from a hierarchical tree-view structure. This allows plants to define many complex reason codes while still making it easy for operators to navigate and select. |
| Extended Configuration Detail |
 |
 |
Dozens of new configuration features allow more complex and detailed processes to be modeled and monitored. New types of configuration entities include Sub-Systems, Event Definition Groups, Types and Tag Groups for organizing Tags in large implementations. |
| Advanced Shift and Team Scheduling |
