FEWER INCORRECT PICKS
FEWER INCORRECT PICKS

Aritco saw fewer incorrect picks in-house and improved productivity in spare part order assembly and picking.

After the go-live of TrakSYS, we have seen improvements in several processes, such as warehouse management and order processing. We have already seen less reported incorrect pick in-house, which is a huge improvement. We also see that we have much better visibility of material shortages in-house and improved productivity, especially for spare part order assembly and picking.

The Company

Aritco Lift AB was founded in 1995 as a manufacturer of lifts that mix efficiency with aesthetics for schools, public buildings, offices, retail stores, and private residences. Built around Scandinavian design, smart functionality, and safety, Aritco lifts have been installed in more than 40,000 buildings and private homes around the world.

Aritco's operations now run out of a 16,000 square meter factory in Stockholm, producing 4,000 elevators a year for 40 countries. Having won several awards for its offerings, the Aritco team realized it needed to overhaul how it manufactured, packaged, and shipped its product. With an understanding that a manufacturing operations management platform was the best path forward, the team reached out to Parsec Automation, LLC certified partner PlantVision, who recommended and implemented TrakSYS.

The Challenge

Lack of shop floor visibility meant incomplete orders were sometimes sent out, hurting customer satisfaction and costing Aritco extra money to ship the missing components. Without a real-time inventory management solution, identifying the quantities of in-stock items was difficult and could eventually lead to production shutdowns when assumed inventory levels did not match actual levels. A lack of insight into production bottlenecks also limited capacity and prevented teams from finding the root causes of production delays.

The Solution

Working with PlantVision, Aritco's production team designed and implemented a TrakSYS rollout to optimize warehouse visibility and, by proxy, production. Where its former solution only told operators which materials an order required, TrakSYS gave operators real-time insight into inventory levels and enabled good manufacturing practices like first in, first out.

PlantVision implemented TrakSYS for Production Management, so teams could monitor every step of the elevator assembly process, with the goal of removing production bottlenecks to increase capacity and let Aritco operate as efficiently as possible.

The Impact

Aritco now has reliable inventory reports built on data that used to live in disparate systems, and inventory-related production closures have dropped from 6 days a year to 2. The team is working toward its on-time and in-full production goals while digitalizing the paper documents that once drove its morning meetings.
