Founded in 1970, fermacell produces and distributes high-quality building materials for the dry lining boards market. Known as the ultimate building board, fermacell has become a leader in the gypsum fiberboard and cement-bonded boards market, with state-of-the-art production facilities strategically located throughout Europe.

As fermacell's operations continued to grow, the company worked toward achieving operational excellence, knowing it would need the data and insight provided by a real-time MES platform. Before TrakSYS, fermacell lacked real-time production data and had no way to trace raw materials back to lots and suppliers.

Production bottlenecks were unidentifiable, and utility usage varied for similar jobs performed on the same line, making it difficult to correlate quality, raw material usage, and utility consumption.

With help from Parsec Certified Partner Actemium, fermacell implemented a TrakSYS rollout that provided a scalable and extensible solution for production monitoring, measuring, reporting, and analysis.

By interfacing with fermacell's ERP (SAP) and existing infrastructure, TrakSYS provided real-time insight that enabled teams to execute production more efficiently and effectively, helping facilitate the high-quality products customers had come to expect at a competitive price.

With TrakSYS, fermacell was able to reduce raw materials consumption by up to 4.0% and gain real-time data and metrics for KPI visibility, process orders, and OEE.

The solution also created a correlation between production and energy usage, helping fermacell monitor every aspect of product quality.
