Platform and Vendor Risk Out-Asked Every Manufacturing Capability
Buyers spent more of their questions on how the platform is changed, supported, upgraded, and secured than on any one thing the system does on the plant floor. Configurability and support appeared in nearly every document. Both out-asked overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Almost every MES on the market can, in some form, do the things in the functionality section. Evaluations diverge on what it costs to get those things working in your plant, who can change them afterward, and what happens at the first upgrade.
