Parsec Automation Introduces TrakSYS MES AI-Assisted Configuration

Anaheim, CA — October 13, 2026 — Parsec Automation, LLC (Parsec), a global provider of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software, today announced TrakSYS 14.1, a release headlined by TrakSYS IQ Build. IQ Build, an extension of the TrakSYS IQ ecosystem, which now comprises Assistant and Build, is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) based connector that allows manufacturers, system integrators, and internal development teams to configure the MES platform by conversing with an AI assistant of their choosing.
Unlike AI capabilities that sit alongside a platform and answer questions about it, IQ Build acts on the platform itself. Because TrakSYS solutions are configured rather than custom-coded, that configuration is structured and inspectable.
For example, an integrator revising a production recipe across multiple documents can describe the change in plain language. IQ Build returns a plan setting out exactly which entities, steps, and records it intends to modify. A person reviews the plan and approves it, and only then does anything get executed. As a result, configuration work that has typically taken specifically trained IT staff can be completed in a matter of minutes by the team that already maintains the solution, giving manufacturers a much faster time to value.
"Configuring an MES is complex, there is a large, multi-dimensional entity hierarchy, and getting it right requires both expert knowledge for the design input and precision of configuration execution." said Bill Rokos, CTO at Parsec. "IQ Build allows the people configuring these solutions to describe what they need in more human ways and review the plan before anything changes. The AI-feature does what it does best, precision and execution, enforcing standards and catching the details."
An Open Standard Instead of a Closed AI Tool
TrakSYS IQ Build is a MCP server that gives an AI client structured access to TrakSYS configuration: the entities, fields, and patterns that define how a TrakSYS solution is built.
The design is deliberately open. Rather than building a proprietary AI experience within TrakSYS, Parsec implemented a connector so that customers can choose the AI client they already use and operate it under their own AI account.
"Manufacturers want the systems they already run to work with the AI they already use," said Suzanne Rudnitzki, CEO of Parsec. "IQ Build does that for configuration. The customer picks the AI model, keeps control of the data, and approves every change before it happens."
Control stays with the customer. Each organization decides whether to enable IQ Build, which AI client it connects to, and who has access. Connecting an external AI client to a TrakSYS configuration is a deliberate decision, made by the customer rather than assumed by the platform.
The initial release provides an AI model with deep knowledge of TrakSYS entities, fields, and configuration patterns; project-specific conventions are supplied by the implementation team via AI-focused context.
Closing Integration and Change-Visibility Gaps
TrakSYS 14.1 also delivers two enhancements that customers have requested directly. TrakSYS has supported MQTT for real-time Tag data since version 13. TrakSYS 14.1 adds MQTT as a full TrakSYS Connect interface type, enabling structured, bidirectional message exchange with business systems over a customer's own broker. Manufacturers whose ERP integration runs on MQTT can now write a process order acknowledgment, publish a quality result, or receive inbound order data natively, rather than adapting Tag-based MQTT.
TrakSYS Cloud Snapshots brings configuration change history into the tooling engineering teams already use. Configured from TrakSYS Cloud, Snapshots exports a TrakSYS configuration on a schedule or on demand, transforms it into a hierarchical file structure, and commits it to the customer's own Git repository, such as GitHub or Azure DevOps. Engineering teams gain a readable change history: what changed in a specific system or script, and when.
Extending the In-Product Assistant
TrakSYS IQ Assistant, the conversational interface introduced with TrakSYS 14, gains page-specific context and custom prompting. A user viewing a line performance page can ask about what is in front of them without restating it, and administrators can shape how a given assistant behaves and responds. Both build on the existing model of scoped assistants, SQL view scoping, and role-based data access.

TrakSYS 14.1 is available to customers on active subscription immediately.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is TrakSYS IQ Build?
TrakSYS IQ Build is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) based connector that lets an AI assistant configure TrakSYS. Users describe the change they want, the assistant proposes a plan, and a person approves it before anything is executed.
What is an MCP server?
MCP, or Model Context Protocol, is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to external systems. Because TrakSYS IQ Build implements the standard, any AI client that supports MCP can connect to TrakSYS and assist with configuration.
Who is TrakSYS IQ Build designed for?
System integrators and manufacturers' internal development teams: the people who build and maintain TrakSYS solutions. It is a configuration capability rather than an operator tool.
How is TrakSYS IQ Build different from TrakSYS IQ Assistant?
TrakSYS IQ Assistant answers questions about production data for operations teams. TrakSYS IQ Build helps configure the TrakSYS solution itself. They serve different audiences and are separate capabilities.
Does enabling TrakSYS IQ Build send configuration data to an AI provider?
The customer chooses which AI client connects and operates under their own AI account and governance. Each organization decides whether to enable IQ Build and who has access.
Can TrakSYS IQ Build change a production configuration without approval?
No. Human-in-the-loop confirmation is built in. IQ Build proposes a plan describing what it intends to change, and a person reviews and approves it before anything is executed.
What else is included in TrakSYS 14.1?
TrakSYS MQTT Connect adds MQTT as a full TrakSYS Connect interface type for bidirectional business-system integration. TrakSYS Cloud Snapshots commits configuration to a customer's own Git repository on a schedule. TrakSYS IQ Assistant gains page-specific context and custom prompting.
