Environmental Responsibility
Parsec is committed to reducing its environmental impact through energy-efficient practices, responsible resource use, and waste reduction. Employees are engaged through training on energy conservation, climate action, and recycling, helping them contribute to sustainability goals both at work.
Energy and GHG Consumption
- Training: Employees receive training on energy conservation and climate action and steps they can take at work and at home to contribute to Parsec’s sustainability goals.
- Carbon Audit: We completed our first greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory to establish a baseline of our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions and set targets for future reductions.
- Cloud Services: Our computing resources are managed through Microsoft Azure, which provides energy-efficient infrastructure and reduces the need for on-site hardware.
- Server Room: A compact air-conditioning system maintains a stable temperature, preventing overcapacity and unnecessary energy use. Regular internal checks ensure equipment is properly maintained and operates efficiently.
- IT Infrastructure: Employee computers are set to automatically sleep and shut down when not in use. Laptops are reclaimed and refurbished for use by other employees to extend their lifecycle.
- Parsec Facilities: All lighting is controlled by timers and motion sensors, and HVAC systems are programmed to avoid running overnight. Our U.S. office is ENERGY STAR® certified, reflecting our commitment to energy efficiency.
Waste Management
- Waste Sorting: Clearly labeled bins are placed in common areas for paper, recycling, and landfill waste. Employee Awareness: Staff receive Sustainability 101 training, which includes guidance on proper waste sorting and reduction.
- Paper Reduction: Parsec operates almost entirely digitally, minimizing printing and paper use across the office.
- E-waste & Battery Recycling: Old laptops, batteries, and electronics are collected separately and sent to certified recyclers.
- Reusable Habits: Employees use real mugs, dishes, and containers instead of single-use items, and packaging is reused whenever possible. People are also encouraged to “bring your garbage home” to minimize waste.

- Employee Training: All employees receive regular training on anti-corruption and anti-bribery practices to ensure they understand their responsibilities and can identify, prevent, and report unethical behavior. Reporting
- Mechanisms: Parsec maintains a confidential whistleblower system that allows both internal and external stakeholders to safely report any suspected cases of corruption, bribery, or unethical conduct without fear of retaliation.
- Sensitive Transactions: A dedicated policy ensures that all sensitive transactions are managed with due diligence, transparency, and authorization, in line with ethical and compliance standards.
Responsible Information Management
- Training: All employees receive information security awareness training during onboarding and on an annual basis to strengthen understanding of data protection practices and prevent potential security breaches.
- Third-Party Due Diligence: Parsec maintains an information security due diligence program for third parties, including a supplier self-assessment process to ensure vendors meet our security and privacy standards.
- Risk Assessment: Annual information security risk assessments are conducted in alignment with ISO 27001 requirements to identify vulnerabilities, evaluate risks, and implement appropriate controls. Reporting: A confidential whistleblower procedure is available for both internal and external stakeholders to report any information security concerns or suspected breaches safely and without retaliation.
- Audits: Internal and external audits are conducted as part of our ISO 27001 framework to evaluate the effectiveness of information security controls and ensure continuous improvement.
- Records Retention: Parsec follows a structured records retention schedule to ensure data is managed, stored, and disposed of responsibly in accordance with legal, regulatory, and operational requirements.
Sustainable Procurement
At Parsec, we recognize that responsible sourcing is essential to achieving our sustainability goals. Our procurement practices are designed to promote ethical behavior, reduce environmental impacts, and support positive social outcomes across our supply chain. By working closely with suppliers, assessing risks, and building capacity through training and clear standards, we aim to create long-term value and foster a more sustainable and resilient supply network.
- Supplier Code of Conduct: Parsec has implemented a Supplier Sustainability Code of Conduct that outlines our expectations for ethical, environmental, and social performance across our supply chain.
- Risk Assessment: We conduct risk assessments of our top fifteen suppliers by spend to evaluate their environmental and social practices and to identify opportunities for improvement and collaboration.
- Buyer Training: Our procurement teams receive training on key social and environmental topics to support responsible sourcing and informed decision-making throughout the supply chain.
- Sustainable IT Purchasing: Parsec selects cloud hosting and technology partners with strong sustainability credentials. For example, we use Microsoft Azure because it operates with energy-efficient infrastructure, renewable energy, and built-in carbon tracking tools that help reduce IT-related emissions.
